The design and construction industry has an enormous opportunity and responsibility to temper the impact we have on the physical environment around us. Through the use of new technologies and time-tested principles of smart design, every project can be both environmentally sensitive, and not go beyond the realistic economies we all have to live with.
As a LEED® Accredited Professional through the U.S.G.B.C., I am familiar with the technologies and design strategies to help each client attain a clean, healthy, and energy efficient home or business. I like to say there are many shades of green, so if composting and solar panels are not your cup of tea, there are lots of ways to make your project (large or small) more healthy, energy efficient, and economical.
I personally believe in using local, recyclable materials, and using healthy alternatives wherever financially possible. As an avid organic gardener, I also encourage the use of native landscaping, edible landscaping and gardens, and buying local and fresh organic fruits, vegetables and meats. Now its not always possible to do so, but I have made a commitment to myself, my family, and my community to do my part.
As an outdoors person I also backpack, camp, and hike whenever time will allow.
