As a licensed Architect, I am charged with designing for the health, safety and welfare of my clients and community. I do not take this responsibility lightly, and take pride in being very careful and detail oriented when it comes to code compliance, ethics and professional conduct.
While not glamorous, I actually enjoy researching and working with building and fire codes to solve challenging situations.
My full time position with the State of Texas requires an extensive knowledge in building codes, fire and life safety codes, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, as well as electrical, mechanical and gas codes. In addition to inspecting new and existing facilities for compliance with code and licensing requirements, I also teach other surveyors, owners and contractors across the state about the requirements and intricacies of fire rated construction.
Amongst all the variables in a design, an occupants safety is first and foremost in my mind on any project.
